Types of Stainless Steel Beams

Stainless steel beams are named after their most prominent aspect of the 'I' Shape. The I-beam is the universal and most identified model and because of that, the other beams are named comparatively to that bar.

  • I Beam: The most common beam in our inventory. The I-beams center web can only be rolled as much as a mill's equipment can handle (5/8″). The I-Beam is lighter in weight which is why it is used so often. The I-Beam is also a solid piece of metal throughout. It is rolled and manufactured from one part.
  • H Beam: The H-Beam is stronger than the I-beam, but it requires much more effort to produce in the process. Instead of being rolled together as one piece, an H-Beam is three pieces individually created and welded together. This allows each portion to be much stronger because you're using the milling equipment three times to reinforce material as opposed to using the equipment once to make one item. Overall, the H-Beam is much heavier than the I-beam and can take much more force and pressure.

Frequently Asked Questions

What materials are available for these stainless steel beams?
We provide a wide range of grades including 201, 304, 310S, 316L, 321, 2205, and 2507 to suit various industrial needs.
What is the primary difference between H-Beam and I-Beam?
H-Beams are generally heavier and stronger, constructed from three pieces welded together. I-Beams are typically rolled as a single piece and are lighter, making them suitable for different structural requirements.
Can the surface of the beams be customized?
Yes, surface treatments include pickling, galvanizing, or coating based on your specific application requirements.
What are the common applications for these steel products?
Our stainless steel beams are widely used in mechanical manufacturing, steel structures, shipbuilding, bridge construction, and automobile chassis.
What standards do your products comply with?
All products follow international standards including GB, ASTM, JIS, SUS, DIN, and EN.
Do you offer customized lengths and sizes?
Standard length is 6m, but we can provide specific lengths and dimensions according to client requests and technical drawings.
